The Accuse By Shirley Kaufman Analysis

The Accuse written by Shirley Kaufman resembles a scene from an attack. Shirley talks about her being the victim and how it affected her after the attack. Overall this poetry took me back to the incidents of being the injured victim of to the Paris attack that occurred recently. From the beginning, “The Knife was much sharper than I thought, and severed the head. I was relieved it stayed on her neck, although she was bleeding across the throat and down the shoulders from under the bun.” According to the news and videos about the attack was that they were victims that were severely injured trying to get help and the paramedics could not save them because they were other people that were brutally injured. At the same time I feel empathy to me and the people that got severely injured or deceased from that attack because we would not be doing stuff that we will be usually when we are severally hurt. …show more content…

Keep your distance,” what she is trying to say is that after marriage she seen many females that are single trying to hit on her husband and she needs to find a wat to stop this. Another quote in the story, “How are the children? They must be growing up. At a kind word from him, a look like the old days, the bitch changes her tone; she begins to whimper.” What she tries to explain is that when people she hasn’t seen for a long time and ask questions about your life, you do not know what to say because you may feel embarrassed. This poem basically resembles a reunion because these are the typical questions that occur at these

The poem "She Was Waiting to Be Told" by Deborah Garrison, is a story about a woman being oppressed. In the poem the wife speaks directly to you, meaning her husband. The author isn’t just addressing the poem to her husband but to the world, to tell a point of view of being oppressed. The speaker in the poem submits to her husband throughout the poem. I believe that the author wrote this poem to express and promote women 's rights.…

In the autobiography written by Dugard, she sees herself as a survivor instead of a victim (Dugard, 2011). In this section, the notion of being a victim or a survivor are two different concepts which will be explained and applied to Dugard’s case. Victim in simple term is defined as someone who is harmed, wounded or killed (Spalek, 2006, p.8) or when their perpetrator violates social order that is punishable by law (Quinney, 1972, p.315). However, victim status is more complex than what is being defined and often depends on the wider historical and socio-cultural processes (Spalek, 2006). According to Christie (1986), victim is a social construct where the amount of recognition given to the victim of crime is dependent how well they fit into the concept of ‘ideal victim’.…
