Sexual education is important infomation that must be taught to kids. Teaching our youth about Sex Ed through preventative programs in school is essential of before adulthood. The debate over when sexual education has always been debated. The debate about when to teach your child is where the debate always begins. It is essential that children begin learning about o sexual education in primary school; this is so they are begin to conceptualize and understand the biological and physical differences of male and female. First and foremost, the age at which sex education should begin is the age of 5. This is the best time to start teaching kids what the important things are about sex. Teaching abstinence is important when adolescents reach puberty because that is the age when this information is vital and begins to make sense in their mind. Abstinence is the only guaranteed way for a teen to avoid pregnancy, and many teens find that abstinence has other social, emotional, and health benefits (Benefits of Teen Abstinence). There a few reasons why a teenage may want to stay abstinent, one reason has to do with the possibility of becoming a parent, and no teenage is ready for that. Staying abstinent is 100 percent effective if used continuously (Abstinence). There are ways for teens to continue their period of abstinence; they could participate in sports and other extra curriculum activities. Building friendships is another way to stay abstinent. I learned enough from personal experiences and Sex Ed to know when to use protection. I am not currently sexually active even though I am seeing someone. I don’t need to engage in sexual relations once I start talking to someone. That isn’t how life works. Building a sexless relationship with my partner is an effective way to reduce the possibility of getting pregnant or getting a Std. I would rather get to know my partner on an emotion level and personal level before engaging in sexual activities. If that special event were to occur, we would use protection.
