On the rez, alcohol is the biggest evil. Alcohol got his grandmother killed, and his dad's best friends Eugene killed. Arnold wants to get out of the rez so he can be successful in life and prove all of his doubters wrong. “I have to go. If I don’t I am going to die here”. This quote shows that Arnold does not want to settle because he wants to leave the rez and do something with his life.
