The Abortion Debate

Since abortion has been legalised under the 1967 Abortion Act, on average around one fifth of all pregnancies in the UK have ended in abortion. I believe that life begins at conception meaning that abortion is murder. Abortion is the process of removing the embryo or foetus from the uterus to end a pregnancy. I believe that it’s not fair to have young children die only because of their mother’s egoism. Sadly it is said that one in three women in the UK have an abortion some point in their life. I do acknowledge the fact that some people may disagree with me as though some pregnancies can result in harm to the mother’s mental or physical health; but is there a mother silly enough to get rid of the spark of hope that could lead her to happiness, her baby?
Unfortunately, most women that carry out an abortion do it as they believe they aren’t fit for mothers, don’t want the child or say it was an accident. 70,000 women world-wide die each year from back-street abortions; this means that those women all wanted an abortion immediately and have lost their lives as a result of

As an example, in 2013 a 33 year old woman had a ‘miscarriage’ and had been sentenced to prison for 20 years. This happened in Indiana, USA. She was sentenced to prison because of feticide and neglect of a dependant however why didn’t she give the child up for adoption? No. This woman had acted on her own accord as though she was scared to tell her parents who did not believe in premarital sex. Frankly, I believe that she shouldn’t go to such an extent and waste 20 years in prison because she didn’t think about her actions. Even though she had a miscarriage, the foetus was stillborn but she had placed it in a bag in a dumpster… This is not how any woman should act. A child would never think of harming their mother in any way. So is it right for a mother to do this? Is it right to make the baby suffer? Is it

In December of 2015, a women living in Tennessee named Anna Yocca, age 31, attempted to abort her pregnancy in her own home using a wire coat-hanger. There are not many details provided in the article about any possible circumstances surrounding the case and there is hardly anything written about the mother apart from the police sergeant, Kyle Evans, bluntly saying that she tried to murder her baby. The baby, who was delivered more than 10 weeks early, was born with several issues, including a very low birth weight and damage sustained to some major organs, one of which was the heart.…

“When a man steals to satisfy hunger, we can safely assume that there is something wrong in society so when a woman destroys the life of her unborn child, it is evidence that either by education or circumstances she has been greatly wronged.” Said by Mattie Brinkerhoff. Abortion is increasing tremendously. There are 40-50 million abortions that occur per year, that means there are 125,000 unborn babies that die every day. In fact, Frank Pavone states that “If we took a moment of silence for each person lost to abortion we would be silent for over 100 years.”…

    1) Access to abortion care is a major public policy problem in the U.S. Many states restrict access to abortion through laws and measures that threaten women's reproductive rights. This paper will examine the abortion debate in the U.S. beginning with the Rowe v. Wade Supreme Court decision of 1973 and how its ambiguous wording allowed anti-choice groups over the subsequent decades to gradually enact restrictive policies on the state level that disproportionately disadvantage low-income women. This underscores that lack of abortion access is an issue of economic justice. 2) This issue affects all women seeking abortion care, but it affects low-income women disproportionately.…
