This chosen course of action will reap the best possible outcome for the client, Jeff. Research and utilization of the ACA code of ethics has assisted in making the decision that will be most helpful for Jeff. This decision entails diagnosing him with a mental disorder in order to place him further up on the list to get into the desired school. This course of action would help to ensure that he makes it into the school, receives the necessary education to make him a valuable asset in the computer technology career field, and lands a job in order to provide for his family. Due to the multitude of possible consequences, and their lack of efficiency, they were decided against. Neither of these choices proved themselves to be beneficial for him. Since rejecting to diagnose Jeff with a mental illness will do nothing good to help his place in the waiting line for the program, there is a likely chance he will not get in. Furthermore, if Jeff were to be denied the diagnosis and instead referred to apply for other programs, he is not only losing his chance at being a part of the qualified program, but he will also be forced to wait longer until he finds another good fit. Unfortunately, this is not a possible choice for Jeff, since he is in dire need of monetary assistance. If Jeff were still to have some sort of financial help, this may very well have been an option, the position he is in, however, rules this out as an ethical
