This novel is meant to improve the habits of teenagers to help them achieve their goals. By reading this book, I learned how to positively change my habits in a way that can improve my chances of becoming a sports broadcaster. The relationship bank account is the amount of trust and confidence that I put into a relationship. I can build it up by doing small acts of kindness and remaining loyal, but it can be weakened by ignoring others. I am decent at following the relationship bank account’s values. I stay loyal and always listen to others, but I am not great at doing small acts of kindness. Habit four introduced me to the idea of thinking win-win, a relationship where both people that are involved win. Thinking win-win starts out with a strong foundation built on personal security and self-confidence, and it only works when both people genuinely care about one another. The two major forces to avoid are comparison and competition, which totally destroy the basis of win-win thinking. This is the habit that I follow the worst, I find myself constantly comparing myself to others which leads me to compete against them. The fifth habit in The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens says that, in order to be understood, I need to listen and understand the other person’s point of view. To accomplish this, I need to listen to them with my ears, eyes, and heart while also looking at the situation from their perspective.
