Malala has made it her purpose in life to fight for women and children’s right to pursue an education, she has stood up to high leaders to advocate for education to the point of getting shot by Taliban to silence her life purpose. Malala Yousafzai with Christian Lamb, author of I am Malala, states “Let us pick up our books and our pens’, I said. They are our most powerful weapons. One child, one teacher, one book and one pen can change the world” (262). In making this comment, Malala urges us to educate ourselves to better our world. To want to gain knowledge by reading, by writing and by attending school. Let our teacher’s be the educators we need them to be in order to open our learning knowledge, and not to give up because of the struggles we may be facing. After reading the book, it gave me an understanding of what Malala is fighting for, which is to give all the children the opportunity to learn and expanding our knowledge.
