The 401k Plan For Behavioral Finance

Decent Essays
For behavioral finance, you picked a good subject which is the 401k plan. A lot of companies do influence their employees to join the 401k savings plan. When I first started working no one told me how essential 401k was. I started investing only 2% of my paycheck. It’s not until I switched jobs and was getting advice from several people on how much to invest. Currently, I invest 6% of my paycheck. I have more saved in 2 years than I did when I was previously investing in 2% at my prior job. I was influenced by my current peers to follow their trend which is aligned with my financial goals.

Instead the Industrial Revolution brought about a change were goods would start to be mass produced using machines. This in turn started up businesses who would produce theses goods and who would employ people to operate the machinery. This is one of the first examples of people coming together to work in the same premises. The main way of payment during the Industrial Revolution was the “Piece Rate” system where employees would be paid for the amount of products they produced whereas now in the 21st century, you are paid mainly by the amount of hours you work.…
