What is THC Oil?

More and more cannabis users are embracing THC oil.

Still, others might not be so familiar with the somewhat complicated world of cannabis concentrates or extracts.

THC Oil

Terminology such as concentrates, extracts and oils are often used to describe THC oil. Although somewhat confusing, they simply describe potent cannabis oils used for vaporizing and dabbing.

It’s important to note that cannabis concentrates are extremely potent, usually double the potency of herb. BHO specifically, may test as high as 80 percent or more in THC. That’s why concentrates are sometimes referred to as dab, meaning only a small dab is needed. BHO, the most common extract is widely consumed for dabbing and vaporizing and may go by a variety of names such as wax or shatter. Butane is used to leach out the essential oils. It’s then evaporated and purged from the product, leaving behind a wax that remains sticky or hardens into shatter.
Due to its high concentration of THC, BHO is often used for chronic pain. BHO can test anywhere between 60 to 90 percent THC, which makes it the strongest concentrate on the mainstream market. But, just make sure your THC oil is tested for purity and does not contain traces of butane.

Shatter vs. Wax
Shatter is solid, transparent like amber-colored glass and smooth in texture. While shatter tests higher in THC than was, the taste and aroma is somewhat diminished due to the process involved. Shatter does last longer and is more stable than wax, but is often difficult to
