The author, Thomas C. Foster, explains the two types of violence found in a story and the genre they are most commonly found in. He explains how the first type of violence is actual violence that cause injuries and or death. The second type of violence found in literature is authorial violence, where authors chose to kill certain characters to make the story more interesting. I believe that the type of violence shown in a story also reflects the style that the author prefers to write in.
