It is Thanksgiving, a day to give thanks for all we have been blessed with, yet all some can seem to do is complain about the family they will have to endure today when some have no family to even think of spending the day with. Or how so and so pissed them off so they are boycotting thanksgiving! Well that's all fine and dandy but think of all the ones who would give everything to have one more holiday with a loved one gone too soon, or Military men and women serving far away and can't be with their families at all, or the military families that live too far away to make a trip home. I know of too many people my age that have lost parents, siblings, children and spouses this year to be ungrateful! I am blessed beyond what I deserve. I bet

What, to the homeless man, is Thanksgiving? I answer: a holiday that reminds him, more than any other hungry day in the year, the gluttony and selfishness to which he is the constant prey. To him, your feasts are ridiculous; your thankful humility, just empty words; your giving attitude, bitterly ironic; your television specials, a mockery of his suffering; your holiday spirit, vanishing in an instant; your clamoring for generosity and kindness, painful to his ears; your pumpkins and autumn leaves, your peace and togetherness, with all the Macy’s Parades and cranberry sauce, are, to him mere frivolity, excess, wastefulness, greed, and close-fisted behavior- a tablecloth thrown over miserly deeds which would shock a room full of businessmen.…

Not once have I seen ANYTHING from Veterans Affairs, the legion or even from an actual veteran that putting up Christmas decorations before Remembrance Day is disrespectful to them. So why is everyone “quoting” these veterans and saying it is? If it is, let the veterans tell us themselves. Any veteran or current serving military I’ve actually talked to doesn’t find it disrespectful, in fact most of them put Christmas decorations up before November 11th.…
