my father and aunt quickly escorted my mother out of the car as I quickly looked to snag a parking spot. I got lost as made my way back to the gigantic building in my pursuit to find my family. My mother was quickly escorted to a room in order to do some medical testing such as CT scans and MRIs. As we awaited the results from testing we were nervous and praying for the best result possible. The doctor quickly escorted us out into the hallway in order to talk to us about the results. Telling from his nonverbal communication I could tell that this was not going to be easy to hear. As he progressed through his description there was a sentence that had everyone a bit on edge “she has a Glioma tumor in her brain.” As we all heard the news my father quickly reaching out for my hand seeking some comfort as hearing how bad the result was. We made our way back into the room and tried to not act somber in hopes it would cheer up my mom however the doctor came quickly in afterwards and mentioned the same thing to her. My father and I stayed till 11PM due to my dad needing to take some urgent medication

Of course all the classic thanksgiving things happen but there are also psychological things that go on. (Darn that psychology sneaking its way into everything, it obviously never goes on break.) I had thought it was too late, the sheriff stopped us a mile from home and told us that he could not allow any traffic through and that we would have to drive 25 miles around to get up the hill, until he saw me screaming in the back seat. I was terrified and all I remember saying was, “My cat, my cat, my cat is at my house!”. After two minutes we were let through and I raced into my house.…

Since I was a little kid, I had always had a love for cooking and baking. I would beg my parents for the large toy kitchen sets with the fake plastic food. I would spend all day “preparing” the food and I would “feed” my parents; asking them if the food I made them was tasty. I even had a tea set that my mom had bought me; I adored it, it was a white set that had little flower details on the pot and cups. When I first got the set I would stop all of my family members who passed by me for some “tea” but I soon stopped asking as I would usually get a “No, thank you” from my dad and sister; however, my mom wouldn’t decline me so she became my go-to person for when I wanted to drink tea with someone.…
