My mom and dad are divorced. I have no memories of them ever being together because of how young I was when the divorce happened. By court orders, my parents had to live within a certain radius of each other, so they could share me. I would switch households every monday, with my mom and dad taking turns on who would pick me up that week from school.

She got me through those really hard times where I had to stay with my dad. She is my inspiration, as she was a first generation college student who completed graduate school and got her masters in nursing. She is my best friend, as growing up as a single parent gave her the opportunity to bond with me the most. She is my everything.
Right before the thanksgiving break, my mom became ill. We both thought it was an ordinary illness such as a cold or the flu, but then it started progressing. My mom started to become incontinent, and barely able to walk, and there is a reason why these images of her being this sick scared me during this time.
My mom is a very active and healthy person. She encourages me to go for runs or walks with her and our dog. She always looks at nutrition labels, and reads every ingredient to make sure that the food she’s buying is vegetarian or pescetarian, so in other words, she eats very clean. She can train for half marathons a weekend before the actual marathon, just because she’s been a runner for such a long time and can complete it with a decent
