In the short story, ¨ Thank You Ma'am,¨ written by Langston Hughes, the main character, Roger, is a dynamic because he starts off being careless and inconsiderate and soon learns to be respectful and polite. For example, after Mrs. Jones takes Roger to her house she offers him food “ [believing] you’re hungry,” but instead Roger’s denies the offer and his impolite side comes out because all “ [he wants] are a pair of blue suede shoes” (27).
