In the beginning he gets scared when a little peach pit falls on his drum, so he turns it. The General than approached him and told him everything would be okay. His Grandfather was a part of the Siox tribe and his name was Joe Iron Shell. Martin is embarrassed about his grandpa, but he still brings his friends to meet him. His grandpa was ill and weak and Martins friends met him and loved him. Martin feels guilty and as if his grandpa thinks he’s not important to their family. Martins Grandfather dressed up when his friends came to make him less embarrassed and Martin appreciated the effort and that he understood him.
