The kids and teachers have been up to par, yet some of the rules have not been. I want the kids to not feel trapped in the uniforms, in order to be happy and motivated to succeed.

You give us dress down days of the strictest guidelines. "Bishop Moore top, jeans or bishop more bottoms" is this even a dress down day. Why are we paying more money to you for just another uniform. I would understand some inappropriate clothes with bad messages to restrict, but why do you think 99.99% are not appropriate to be worn at school.

What I've come to experience with the dress down is a negative. I remember waking up knowing we had a dress down to not worry about putting my uniform in the washer/dryer. I just threw a t-shirt and a pair of shorts, and I come to school and apparently I just violated the dress code. I got a detention out of the deal and was very unhappy. I'm sure I wasn't the first to get an injustice detention on dress down

Dear Midlothian Middle School Administration, As you've probably noticed in the past few days, the student body, mainly the women have been irritated about your dress code guidelines. We feel as although we as women should not to comply with these unjust rules we were compelled to sign in order to attend this facility. The dress code policies not only target girls, but also restricts us to purchasing certian items of clothing that folows the dress code rules. Students have set rules and expectations to follow. One rule would be dress code. At Beaufort High School a 17 year old Student Body President was stopped by a teacher in the hallway and was told, “Your skirt is too short. You need to go to in-school suspension and then go home”. After she was told to go to in-school suspension, she was told that she could go home and change.…

Dear, Hinson I would like to bring it to your concern of your behavior at school recently and the way you are bringing negative attention to our school. You are a early collage student who does not seem to have the potential and maturity that of which you agreed to be the day you took the chance to attend and become part of this school, I believe you shouldn't disrupt class and get others involved into your problems. I have noticed that you only want attention because you think disruptions and cheating on test makes you cool because you act in such a immature way. This has gotten out of hand and it is starting to affect me and I find it very hard to believe I was your friend by the way you act now.…

There are many differences in school dress codes, for examples in our school, Sunset Ridge Middle School who has 12 different rules, the major being that we are not allowed to wear any articles of clothing that are mutilated, cut-off, or immodest. Stapley Junior High in Mesa, Arizona who only has six rules, are allowed to wear any article of clothing that do not show any straps, see through, or do not cover the entire back. Schools in different states have different dress code rules along with having teachers and administrators who have different interpretations of how they should be. Therefore, we do not know what dress code is the best or most correct for students and should allow the student to have their own decision in what they…

If you had been hired my freshman year I know I would be so much more successful. I still do consider everything I have done at Buchanan the last two years extremely successful, especially my show. I know throughout the second semester I kept saying how I hated my show and it didn’t go as planned, but up until the actual performances I gained a lot of experience and that is what is truly important. You helped me gain every piece of experience from that show. I do still think that it was a failure because it didn’t turn out how I wanted it to, but you expanded my knowledge of directing and patience!…

We all know that group of girls who show up to school with their breast popping out of their shirts, butts hanging out of their shorts, and belly shirts that show way too much skin. Obviously, dressing like this to school is in no way appropriate, and should be addressed. Another argument of why the dress code should be enforced is the fact that school is a learning environment and that we should be teaching kids how to dress for the future. By doing this, you are helping young adults understand that wearing a crop top or (for boys) wearing saggy pants to an interview definitely won’t get you a job. Others may say that enforcing the dress code, like providing school uniforms, will help families that are in poverty and will decrease bullying when it comes to making fun of someone’s…
