Persuasive decorum is fitting in, but not only is it what your audience expects of you, but also a way to persuade your readers. One thing I find interesting is that, “deliberative argument is not about the truth, it’s about choices, and persuasive decorum changes to match the audience,” (Heinrichs 49). Heinrichs conveys that not all argument is about the truth, but if you have the right choices for your audience, you can persuade an audience to make the choices you want them to. Not only is decorum important, it attracts readers to want to fit in, encouraging the persuasion to match those of the audience. Thank You for Arguing is a well developed book educating readers about the effects of rhetorical teaching. Logically speaking, the impact of this book has opened many eyes and minds to seeing the importance of rhetorical teachings and has influenced many people to try to become more persuasive.
