Today everywhere are people are talking and texting while driving. Drivers should not be allowed to use the cell phone while driving. Using a cell phone while driving can cause many problems for you and the other drivers on the road. Just by sending a quick text could end with someone being hurt. Therefore cell phone use while driving should be stopped.
Using a cell phone while driving may cause someone to get distracted. If they are calling or texting someone that might distract the driver and cause an accident. Officials said that distractions are when the driver takes their eyes off the wheel. (Neely 9). If someone is using a cellphone and they look down at a text then see that it’s a car stopping in front of them then they will have to stop on their brakes quickly so they will not hit the car in front of them. That caused the person to have a delayed reaction. In an article by John Siniff he said” Moments after leaving USA TODAY's offices in suburban Virginia on Saturday evening, I hopped on Interstate 66 for a quick drive home. The skies were overcast, a light mist was falling, and the sun was beginning to set. A young woman speeding along in the lanes behind me was lost in a phone conversation when the 2,500 pounds of metal she was piloting slammed into my vehicle from behind. I never even heard the tires squeal. Her brakes didn't strain because she hadn't even applied them. (Siniff 2) This could translate to the driver’s cellphone conversation as well.
