1.6 million crashes a year. From what you may ask? In this paper I will tell you why I think cell phones should not be used while driving. I will give all of the crash statistics, and what other people think of it. Recently I said that there are 1.6 million crashes a year. If you still don’t know why (it was in the title) then let me just tell you. It is from texting while driving. There is also 330,000 injuries from texting while driving. You would think that after just these two reasons, you would believe me but just incase, keep reading.
I bet you didn’t know that 1 in 4 car accidents happen from texting while driving. Also texting while driving causes a 400% increase in time spent with eyes off the road. Another fun fact is that answering a text takes your attention away for about 5 seconds. Travelling at 55 mph,

Someone says “It’s easy. You just got to be smart with it.” Now I do not think that is true. Another student says “Texting while driving endangers everyone. It’s stupid and irresponsible.” Now that one I agree with. “I do know it is dangerous, but if you are able to do it and be safe, it is OK.” That there is another example of a student I do not agree with. I think that even if you can do it and THINK you can be safe, it is still not worth the risk. One last one that I do agree with is “Texting while driving is a very dangerous combination. We should try to be safe, especially while driving.” Here is what some more people think of it but they are adults from all over the world. This first one does not have a sayer stated so we can just call him/her person X“Drivers should not be allowed to text and drive for multiple reasons” Says person X, “Not only are you putting yourself at risk, you’re putting others around you inside and outside of your vehicle at risk. The driver is putting more lives in danger no matter how good of a driver they think they are” I agree 110%
