Out of the students who have phones seventy-one percent of them receive a text message during class. But there is a problem for teens texting all day long it has become a very bad habit for teens. Have you ever wondered what your kids are doing on their phones? Well they are probably texting so for teens to have their phones in school is very distracting for them. It would get super tempting to text friends or get on social media and games. Then they would not get their work done in class and have a lot of homework. If,the phones were to ring during class or a test then it would distract the whole class. But the students phone that went off then they would be tempted to answer their phone during class. In other words, cell phones should not be allowed in classrooms. …show more content…
Although cell phones might help students get information faster but they can get on social media like Instagram, Facebook, and Snapchat. Students don't even need to be looking at their phones to get distraction by them, they can be listening to music rather than their teacher. Since there are many things to do with cell phones like social media and listening to music,students are more likely to get distracted by their phones than rather listening to their teacher. This is one of many reason why cell phones shouldn't be in classrooms.
We know that cell phones are a big distraction in classrooms but students can use their phones to cyber bully other students in the school. Out of the students in schools there is thirty-seven percent are experiencing cyber bulling on a highly frequent basis. Young students were found to be twice as likely to get cyber bullied on Facebook than any other social media network. In other words, letting students be on their cell phones in the classroom might increase the percentage of students getting cyber bullied in classrooms.
