Texting Habits Of Drivers

I drive every day, passing hundreds if not thousands of vehicles commuting on interstates, highways and neighborhood roads. While I am not the world’s best driver I am far from the worst. There are countless annoying habits that drivers in this day and age have and I notice them all. From tailgating to riding with a blinker on I will notice it, even illegal annoyances such as texting and driving and speeding.
The first habit and probably the one that itches my temper the most is tailgating. Tailgating is the act of driving too closely behind another vehicle. This is very dangerous and can cause an accident. If the lead car would need to brake immediately, the tailgating car would slam into the rear bumper of the leading car. Causing damage to the car and possible damage to both drivers and any passengers inside the car. Many accidents are caused this way and almost always the tailgater is at fault. Not only is tailgating dangerous, it is also very annoying. In most scenarios drivers are tailgating because the car in front of them is going too slow or road rage is involved.

Since the birth of the cell phone in the early 2000’s texting has become more and more popular. It is now many peoples main source of communication. And while on the road it is a great distraction to the driver. Texting and driving is not specific to one age group, in fact most people on the road use a phone at one time or another while driving, be it texting or checking email it is all a distraction.
