Texting and driving has become a deadly issue in today 's generation. Many teens, as well as adults, have formed this horrible habit of using their cell phones while driving their vehicles. This habit has caused many catastrophic accidents as well as deaths. Texting while driving has made the roads unsafe for others. Many states have realized the threat of texting and driving causes and have placed a ban on this epidemic. While many people realize texting and driving is hazardous others believe that the ban is useless and not strong enough of a solution. Five days earlier, the five teenagers had just graduated from high school looking forward to the beginning of their adult lives. Two minutes before the crash was reported, her phone was used to send a text greeting to a friend. All four girls died at the scene with no survivors. These horrific stories are not isolated incidents but an overwhelming and demoralizing incidents created by texting while driving. Texting and driving have caused more deaths than drinking and driving. For example many European nations require the driving pedestrians use hand free device connected to the car sound system. This creates and environment where the driver will not text and will pay attention to the road and other drivers. Many of the developed countries around the world realized texting while driving is not a great policy to running a safe country. Since United States is the leader of the world by leading military and monetary power many states have realized the horrific outcomes that comes with texting and driving and have banned it. Some states that have banned texting and driving are California, Connecticut, Delaware, Maryland, and Nevada. Some of these sates have placed a fine on texting and driving if caught. State like Delaware where state troopers and city police officers give expensive driving tickets if they see a pedestrian driver talking on the phone using their hands and ear instead of hand free device. However, five to 10 states have such strict laws and while other states have no banned on texting and driving.
