According to Edgar Snyder and Associates, 11 teens die a day because of texting while driving. An AAA poll was taken and 94% of teens acknowledge the dangers of texting and driving, but 35% of them admit to doing it any way. I know from personal experience that texting and driving should not be taken as a joke. One day I was on my way to school on a slippery day. The amount of deaths each year continues to grow because of irresponsible drivers. If we don’t stop this, people will continue to die or be seriously injured because someone sending a message. Out of all four ideas, the second one would be the most influential. When a person is told to not do something, while their enforcer is in front of them, they will not do it. But, when that person is by themselves, chances are their going to do it anyways. So, by making them get weighty tickets and possible jail time will hold them accountable for their actions. This way, another person can be saved from a reckless driver running into them. Every person that dies is someone’s mother, father, sister, brother, daughter, son, etc. We need to put a cap on this mess before it gets out of hand. Before we know it, it won 't be safe to walk anywhere any more. Texting and driving is in comparison to drinking and driving. When a person is drunk while driving, their senses are not alert, numbed and not working efficiently. When a person is texting and driving their senses are totally not alert, their focused on something else. When a person gets arrested for drinking and driving, they receive a DUI on their permanent record. Depending on the person, jobs are affected, public image is tarnished, future employment is effected, licenses are suspended, etc. But when a person is texting and driving, they are given a ticket and told to stop doing that. Both end lives, both take away attention from the road, but one is only punishable by law. It is not fare people can 't walk down the street cause their scared of being hit from behind because of a distracted driver. It’s to the people to take a stand against

A less-harsh solution could be to force drivers who’ve been caught texting while operating their motor vehicle to attend a weekend class about the dangers of texting while driving. Although seminars and awareness campaigns have their place in society, the possibility they change the behavior of millions of drivers is slim, so says a recent National Safety Council (2014) article. A much easier-in-theory solution is simply to have parents teach their kids about the dangers of texting while driving at a young age instead of having police officers force it down their throats after they’ve already endangered themselves and everyone on the road around them. The idea of this solution is to stop the problem before it starts. This creates a possibility of a waterfall effect where that child then teaches their future child about the dangers of texting while driving, thus creating a new generation of people who are predisposed to not text when they drive.…
