Whether the conversation was or is as important as the last it is human nature to test risks and master the art of multitasking. Yes, some people are able to hold off the urge with ease to find out the topic of the text message and focus solely on the road but majority rules, and majority says 52% of all Americans have reached for the phone while driving. Citizens of all ages have admitted to using the phone while driving so it isn't a matter of maturity that can prevent a texting and driving accident. Laws, applications and pledges have been used to raise awareness of the harm of texting while driving but is it enough? Human nature can't always be shock and it isn't guaranteed that a person will learn even from their mistakes therefore the same mobile companies that empower cellular devices should be held accountable for accidents caused by texting and driving. Hold each company accountable for each accident a person caused that happens to have a service with their network and see if they don't come up with brilliant ideas to eliminate the incident completely. Unfortunately, this has led to many deaths worldwide according to Newsday.com “Texting and driving is now the number one cause for leading deaths in teens.” It has surpassed the deaths caused by drinking and driving in recent years according to researchers. “On estimate 8 people are killed and 1,161 are injured in crashes that are reported to be caused by the driver texting and driving.” This was stated on cdc.gov by experts. In recent studies it has reported that many drivers that usually cause these accidents are between the ages of 16-18 because many of these young drivers are usually distracted with social media sites like Snapchat, Twitter, Facebook, etc. They are careless and run the risk of endangering people’s lives that are on the road. Thus this has led to a majority of cities in Texas to ban the use of texting while driving. However, many teens chose to disobey this law due to the fact that they are addicted or always used to being on social media. Many innocent people are usually the ones always affected by these carless drivers usually they end up either dead, injured or paralyzed.
