The Issues of Texting, Drinking, and Driving
The issues of texting, drinking, and driving is a major problem in our society today. Every day, 11 teens die because of texting and driving. 35% have admitted to knowing it is wrong but still do it anyway. Texting while driving should be made illegal to make the roads safer for the driver and everyone else. That’s not the only issue - drinking and driving is also very dangerous. An investigation revealed that alcohol affects drivers in many aspects including attitude, judgement, perception, reaction, and control (Hindawi). In Europe, there is about 10,000 deaths a year because of drinking and driving. Alcohol use increases accident risk and impairs driving. Distracting driving is also common about teen deaths. It could simply be a text, a phone call, another person, or simply just taking your eyes off the road for a second. Lives are in danger if we continue like this. The Government needs to take charge and ban texting and drinking while driving before the situation gets worse.
The common cause of teen death these days is texting while driving. Those teens who have just got their license or have not had it long, thus are they already classified as reckless drivers and above that they also text, which makes
