How Texting Affects Teens
Texting is blazing like a hot raving fire that cannot be extinguished. The awakening of texting is and will continue to modernize the lives of teenagers throughout the world. My research paper will focus on how texting have affected teens socially, mentally, physical and their health. Cell phones are becoming a modern day necessity to the point that all teens must have one for texting. Everywhere you go, you see teen’s heads down texting away in malls, schools, cars, streets, and even crosswalks. We may be one of those people with our fingers glued to our phones keyboard or touch screen. Does this really affect our day to day activities?

Sleep deprivation can cause obesity, hyprivation and memory impairment. Studies indicated that teens that do not get enough sleep have the same mental impairment in judgment and reaction time as someone who is drunk. Besides depression and feeling tired impacts a person quality of life. Sleep texting is a problem affecting teens. Many teens’ texting lives do not end when the lights go out for the night. In fact, some teens respond to text messages during the first two stages of sleep. There can be physical symptoms such as painful fingers or thumbs from the constant stress put on the joints from too much texting.
