Tablets should replace textbooks in K-12 grades because they are more portable, they help students learn faster and they help save the environment by saving trees.

Tablets are mini computers that can do the same or sometimes more and they are bigger than smartphones.(Gregersen, Erick). The weight of the textbooks can even affect the teachers. Textbooks can cause serious injuries to the students back. Some of these students even need to go to the chiropractor at a very young age.(ProCon.org). Five percent of students visit the school nurse complaining about pains of their spines and how their backpacks are too heavy. To prevent these problems from occurring the school officials would have to figure out a way to pay for these major problems. Aso the schools would have to fund these injuries. The injuries could cost up to $40,000 for back injuries or up to $13,000 for wrist and hand injuries.(Klindt, Rob).
