Texas Tech Argument Analysis

The guns up slogan has not been a big deal to most of the people around Lubbock. I have personally never met that thinks the slogan is offensive to them. This really has only been the complaint I have heard of by everythinglubbock.com. This has not changed the social status of Texas Tech at all. Social status is the amount f honor someone or something receives from the community as described in chapter 8. Some people make a big deal out of nothing. Just like the presidential election this year. Trump won the election and there is a lot of riots going on around the United States. Just because you don’t agree with someone doesn’t mean you should make a big deal out of it. If you don’t agree with the Texas Tech slogan then you don’t have to attend

At first glance, the author’s argument appears to be somewhat appealing, but a close examination will reveal how groundless it is. The author of this article concludes that better times are coming for all academic job seekers in the future. To support his conclusion, he states several reasons that the job opportunities will increase. However, I do not think the argument is logically convincing because of three critical flaws. First of all, the author makes a hasty generalization.…

Recently, there has been an argument in the State of Texas about the power of the State and the local governments. This argument had raised up after Gregg Abbott warned about the “Californization” of Texas, and in follow passing laws that limited the power of local governments on issues like fracking in their cities. These arguments are similar to those that are for the powers for the State versus Federal government. Hence, there are lots of arguments for and against the local control, and on the other hand, it is hypocritical for the state government to impose its will on the policies.…

come to the same conclusion that the founding fathers were commoners in almost cult-like Americanistic view, which echoes the mythic sense of the founding that Nash describes in his quote. It is historically proven to argue Nash’s point further that the framers were almost all very materially and societally elite, they knew that if they did not guard against rebellion, their country could be taken by the same violent mob that toppled the British elite. The elite framers needed a way to pay for the war for a country that did not exist yet. America was the first country to divide itself from its mother country that formed itself into an entirely new state.…

The sport of football plays a complex role in the lives of its players; its pros and cons have caused a debate of whether or not adolescents should continue to participate in the sport. Participation in any sport involves the risk of injury, but football seems to be an exception. Many believe that football is an overly-aggressive sport that endangers the players' health. Others argue that the sport's benefits outweigh the risks, helping players build stamina, social skills, and character; however, they do not fail to recognize the fact that the sport of football is quite risky. High school students should not be allowed to play football, because its players could suffer from injuries to their physical, mental, and emotional health that could can could cause long term health complications.…

So, reading chapter 10 this week was really informative. The chapter contained many different concepts and a great deal of information. It really helped me have a better understanding of the chapter, since I missed the lecture on truth tables. However, as I read the book and tried to understand them I got more confused. I understood that in order to prove your argument is valid both of your premises have to be true.…

I have to say that writing my topic and working thesis for everyone in the class to see last week was a little intimidating. My topic was already a subject that some people might frown upon, so I was unsure of myself. After I read the feedback from my professor (Kristen) and my classmate (Chanda) I felt better about my topic. Kristen and Chanda had great feedback that will be incorporated into my narrative essay. There were also some feedback that I will probably have to pass on to make the essay flow seamlessly.…

In this paper, I take the position that ethical objectivism is true, using Harry J. Gensler’s theory for ethical objectivism, the Golden Rule (GR) Intuitionism. I will first present Gensler’s argument, explaining why his argument is sound and proves ethical objectivism. I will then introduce what I consider to be the strongest argument against Gensler’s theory, David Hume’s argument of how Moral Motivation Undermines Moral Objectivity. I will then attempt to show how the argument does not show that GR Intuitionism is false with the aid of Immanuel Kant’s view on reasoning in morality. By showing how the GR Intuitionism is sound, and refuting Hume’s argument, I will argue that ethical objectivism is true.…

Even though my boyfriend’s dad drives an SUV (and I think it’s okay), I was not persuaded by this essay either. With large families on long trips, the extra space makes for a more pleasurable drive. In my opinion, the essay appeared to be set up as a logical argument at first, although I did not find enough rigorous, factual statistics to support his logic. Arguably, I found the emphasis to be opinions referring to his emotions and ethics.…

Paper 1 draft was reviewed by the Professor and a friend of mine; however, the focus of the reviews were drastically different and allowed me two improve my paper in two dimensions. On one hand, the Professor focused on the structure of my argument and the evidences to support my argument. Since the Professor knows the background information well, she was able to suggest improvements in conveying the author’s ideas and exploit weaknesses in my argument. For example, I would never have noticed the weakness of my second point of my argument, trialibility, without the Professor’s explanation of how it does not support my argument well. On the other hand, my friend helped improved sentence structures that allowed me to learn how to express my ideas…

The second type of accounts I have chosen to talk about is justification. Justification is when an individual accepts full responsibility for the act in question but they disapprove of the quality associated with the act. The type of justification I would like to focus on is denial of victim. The denial of victim is when an individual performs an act and believes it was permissible since the victim deserved the outcome. There are categories of persons that are perceived to deserve injury, and one of those categories include individuals that go against the normality of society and indulge in discrepancy roles.…
