Texas Parent PAC Blog
Texas Parent PAC was started by five mothers on July 22 in 2005. It is an interest group that promotes improving public education for children. This interest group is mainly aimed toward grandparents, parents, future parents, and others that support better public education. Texas Parent Pac is considered a nonprofit corporation in Texas. The founders believed that the future of Texas was in the hands of the children, and the only way to guarantee the safety of Texas future is through improving public schools. The parents in this group got angry with the lack of support Texas lawmaker had for the education system resulting in the members getting active in their community and state. The interest group focuses on several issues that fall under improving education but one of them are the quality of teacher and educators and state funding for public schools. The second issue they focus on is influence people to vote and learning the importance of them as citizens getting involved. Texas Parent PAC is responsible for helping 51 legislators being elected in Texas Legislature and defeating 19 legislators that didn’t support better public education (txparentpac). …show more content…
Teachers and educators should be well qualified and they should be plenty of them for every classroom. It is important to the interest group that public schools receive the necessary sources for employing people and better qualified people means that the students will reap the benefits. They considered that legislative actions like budget cuts should be avoided to keep experienced educators from leaving the profession. Their members encourage better pension and health care for retired teacher hoping to influence more people to become teachers.
