Texas Museum Description

Even though we’ll be staying in Texas for two weeks, it appears that we will have no problem keeping ourselves busy. Twenty attractions are listed on our primary list, all of which we will not be able to take in. In addition, we have a substantial secondary list. Therefore, we will have to prioritize to reduce our activities to a level suitable for retired folks. On the way down we will visit a state history museum, a presidential museum, and a state capitol. Therefore, we may want to avoid the Bullock Texas State History Museum, the Lyndon Baines Johnson Library and Museum, and the Texas State Capitol on the first several days of our stay in Texas.

However, we may wish to consider creating as much variety as possible for our trip. The Fredericksburg Historic District, the Natural Bridge Caverns, the San Antonio River Walk, the Texas State Capitol, and the Witte Museum are unique attractions on our list. The Alamo Mission and the San Antonio Missions National Historical Park are both historical sites. On our primary list, we have three art museums, the Blanton Museum of Art, the McNay Art Museum, and the San Antonio Museum of Art; three history museums, the Bullock Texas State History Museum, the Lyndon Baines Johnson Library and Museum, and the National Museum of the Pacific War; and three natural attractions; the Cibolo Nature Center, the Hamilton Pool Preserve, and the Meadows Center for Water and the Environment. The Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center and the San Antonio Botanical Garden are both botanical gardens. We have no standard zoos on our primary list. However, both the Natural Bridge Wildlife Ranch and SeaWorld San Antonio are attractions relating to animals. SeaWorld has the dubious distinction of standing out as the most expensive attraction on our …show more content…
We most likely will visit the San Antonio River Walk and the Alamo Mission in a single day. The Bullock Texas State History Museum and the Texas Capitol Building are in close proximity to each other. Although it would be a long day, the history museum and a capitol building tour could be done on the same inclement weather day. Perhaps on a day that is ideal for photography, we could combine a trip to the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center, and an exterior photo shoot of the Texas Capitol Building and Monuments. If we make a trip to Fredericksburg, we will combine the Fredericksburg Historic District with the National Museum of the Pacific War. Based on their addresses, we may want to do the same with the Natural Bridge Caverns and the Natural Bridge Wildlife Ranch. The San Antonio Botanical Garden, the Witte Museum, and two attractions from our secondary list, the San Antonio Japanese Tea Garden, and the San Antonio Zoo and Aquarium, are all either in or adjacent to San Antonio’s Brackenridge
