In simple words, Texas House of Representatives means the lower house of Texas legislature which consists of 150 members who are elected for 2 years. My home address is 3205W walnut hill lane, Irving, Texas. From the website given for knowing my district, the district number that I belong is 115 and by looking the map I found my district is gerrymandered. The population from age group 0-4 in this district is 7.4%, 5-17 years is 19.4%, 18-64 years is 62.3%, 65 years and older is 10.9%. 65% of people speak English. There is total population of 171,802 including black, Hispanic, Anglo, and others. 6.1% children are admitted in preschool, kindergarten students consist of 69%, 24.9% are college, graduate or professional school and 45.9% students have completed their bachelor’s degree. Only few percent of people have qualification of less than a high school. 3.3% of people are involved in agriculture, 9.3% in manufacturing. Most of the people (21%) are involved in educational and health sector. Age groups from 16 and over, there are 78.8% people who work on private field. 14.3% people do government jobs and 6.7% people are self-employed.91.65 people use their own vehicle. Only 1.6 percent of people use the governmental transportation. There are 7.3% people who earn less than $10,000 per year and 5.0% people who earn $200,000 and more …show more content…
As he belongs to Republican Party, my thoughts and views overlap with his views. He has won the election two times in 2014 and 2016 which proves that district 115 has maximum number of republican voters. I think, me being a moderate republican, have quite good chance of winning the election in this district as I will also be working on the similar projects like improving education, health services and making gay marriage legal.
