Another leader that contributed to some of Texas Health would be the director of quality, Cindy Stepp-Gann, M.S., C.C.C. Stepp-Gann pays attention to the cases to make sure they meet the criteria for the core measures. Step-Gann generates the reports on which cases meet the criteria for the inclusion of the core measures each day. Since numbers can change it’s important that the staff review to optimize performance and ongoing education. When implementing a change on how to improve SCIP core measures, communication and feedback from staff are critical for Step Gann (Lashbrook, 2009). Also, Stepp-Gann has did a great job persuading Texas Health surgeons to adopt preprinted order sets for antibiotic administration by reaching out to the state
