Our proud diversity

Texas is reflected in a variety of cultural activities, celebrations, and performances. It is one of the many states to have such a variety of cultures and traditions. Because of the vast differences in cultures there are many fun and exciting traditions that lots of people do participate in. Each tradition has something very special and meaningful to it and Texans are all proud of their state's unique diversity and difference. Whether it is a culture or a belief lots of people value the importance of these rituals. In Texas the diversity of the people makes a unified whole. That is what makes Texas the state that it is now. Most of the state's cultural diversity comes from settlers and immigrants. Such as all the Spanish and French explorers who came in the 1500 were Roman Catholic and they brought many settlers and they also tried converting some people. Many of the wars around the world brought many immigrants and refugees and it did bring many cultures that people didn't even know about. Some cultures are Hinduism, Sikhism, Judaism, Buddhism, and Islam.

Some examples include weddings, funerals, wood paintings, and instruments. As people immigrate their cultures are different than others in many ways. They could have new customs, new religions, different political views, and different tastes such art, music and sports. All the new immigrants would make Texas more diverse, but at the same time more mixed as people would share their traditions. Trade also changes cultures. Such as when the French and Spanish made items out of metal they traded it with the Native Americans for animal skin and horses.
