Tevis Reflection

I attended three elementary schools Mckinley, Bessie Owens primary and Bessie Owens Intermediate. At the end of my sixth grade year, i was excited to go to junior high for many reasons. I was looking forward to having lockers and multiple classes. When I got to Tevis I thought the campus was really big and being late to class would be common. I also thought I was not going to have that many friends because I came from another school district. Fortunately, I got used to my class schedule fast, and I found wonderful friends to get through my school years with. I thought junior high was going to be hard to get through, but learning the material like I always did helped me get through the years.
My most difficult class throughout my time at Tevis would be my language arts class with Mrs. Bushnell my seventh grade year. I was in the above grade level class that year, so the teacher had high expectations for everyone in the class. The class was hard for me because we were

My first period language arts teacher Mrs. Dixon, which happens to be the person I am writing to, is the person I respect the most. At the beginning of the year, I immediately noticed she always kept a smile on her face no matter the weather, and walking into her class and feeling the positive vibe she gives off everyday was important to me. Even though she does not like to spend time in class talking about her own personal life she shared an upsetting story with us about her childhood. She gives us hope as person and makes children like us realize that everyone is not as perfect as they seem. She inspires me because she decided to not let it affect her as a person and left it all behind her becoming the amazing person she is today. My teacher and the school taught me to keep moving forward and try your best at all times. I am looking forward to the everlasting friendships and memories that will arise in high

My older brother attended Tevis years before I had and he told me it would be easy, and I shouldn’t worry. When I actually reached 7th grade, I was very hesitant to try new things and meet some people. I ended up being fine and joined a small group of people that made me feel accepted in this large school full of kids. Most classes were very simple and easy to understand but, I would say the most difficult class I had was my 7th grade…

If I raised my voice it was not directed towards Major Trevino. My raised voice was simply a display of the emotional frustration I was feeling in general about all the issues listed above. It was never my intention to offend Major Trevino personally or him as a leader. In my defense, I feel that if Major Trevino really had a problem with my voice as he say being unprofessional by my voice rising, then he could have stopped the meeting. I then asked why it has to be this way… Why it has to be this way with management…please tell me why”.…

My Experience at Wake Early College of Health and Sciences Applications and The Decision In August of 2012, I started Wake Early College of Health and Sciences. I learned about the school from my former middle school, West Cary, and I started learning more and more about it before I applied. Wake Early College and STEM Early College came to my middle school to give a presentation on the schools, and my dad was taken away with how great Wake Early College was. I, however, liked STEM more because it was at North Carolina State University, and I knew that if I could do well in the high school classes and college classes mixed there, then I would have a great chance of getting into NCSU.…

My education started when I was just three years old, sitting between my parents on their bed, reading - or at least trying to - the HOP (Hooked On Phonics) books. It was our nightly routine all through Pre-K. By the time that I was in Kindergarten we had worked our way up to the Magic Tree House stories, Junie B. Jones, and The Chronicles of Narnia books, and so many more. My parents made sure that they started to teach me skills that I would need for school at a young age. From reading books every night, to practicing math while calculating carbohydrate counts and insulin dosages for my diabetes, I took in all the knowledge that I could, like a sponge.…
