Why Testing on Prisoners is a Bad Idea

Despite all the backings on social media from people around America, it probably isn't a great idea to test on Prisoners for a ton of legal reasons. After discovering that the prisoners of the concentration camps had been tested on, a set of 10 ethical principles were placed in effect called the Nuremberg code. This code eliminates all human experimentation unless the person is willing and also does not permit such testing on willing humans until results from animal testings are tracked and received. These ethical principles were later turned into the Declaration of Helsinki which has been notorious for creating many ethical debates. In a normal experiment, scientists tend to control food and liquid

Experiment on human is an unhuman way of learning or figuring out what the human body rejects or accepts. For many centuries, we are trying to find many cures or answers to the human body. They’re many doctors who do many terrifying things one can never imaging. In the book, The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks I read many experiment that they did to many people that I never ever heard of. For example: Tuskegee Experiment, Holocaust Experiment, and Nuremberg Trail/Code.…

Using inmates as subjects, from Jewish people to the mentally and physically handicapped, physicians performed operations and experiments, often without any type of anesthesia. These experiments included studies of how much gas would be needed to kill a certain number of prisoners as quickly as possible and high-altitude testing that damaged the lungs of the subjects. They also messed around with germ and viral injections and made millions of these people suffer. What the doctors anticipated to accomplish were answers that would assist the Germans in war. However, the outcomes of these experiments ended up being unsatisfying or completely…

Unethical research has no meaning for its purpose. Why conduct an experiment with no means to have progress as an outcome. For over nearly 50 years there has been raised eyebrows about whether not someone could use information gained from Nazi experimentation on concentration camp victims. This unethical research experiment is portrayed in The Dachau Hypothermia Experiments. These victims were captured Russian soldiers (the Nazis wondered whether their genetics gave them superior resistance to cold) and members of a concentration camp located in Upper Bacaria, Southern Germany.…

The Stanford Prison Experiment is perhaps one of the most known and controversial psychological experiments in both psychology and criminology. While the Stanford Prison Experiment did invoke questions as to the results of the experiment, it invoked more questions as to ethics in psychological experiments and what is acceptable. The Stanford Prison Experiment by Philip Zimbardo asks for student volunteers for a paid experiment where students would be randomly selected to play guard and prisoner in a mock prison at Stanford University. The experiment was called off by Zimbardo himself after being confronted by a college and many of the prisoner’s emotional breakdowns. There is the ACJS code of standards in regards to the treatment of human…

Other experiments were designed to find a cure for typhus, malaria, tuberculosis, and hepatitis. To test the treatments, they were forced to be exposed to the diseases. Some were also exposed to mustard gas to test its potency. The most cruel and inhuman experiments were designed to prove that Jews were an inferior race. Prisoners that were doctors before the war were forced to perform the experiments on their fellow prisoners.…

After reading about the two cases, Subject to Aboriginal Experiments and The Tuskegee Experiment, I can’t help but wonder do researchers who began with good intentions, become selfish people that lets their experiments lose its moral in order to obtain their goals. Its immoral that researchers tries to take advantages of those at a disadvantages, such as those hungry children and poor black men. In general, experiments should first be approved by the Institutional Review Boards, and even if its approved, no freedom should allowed when researchers are conducting their research. Especially experiments that contain potential harm to the subjects, should be closely supervised and regulated.…

Today, interestingly, the public opinion is not entirely against the concept of human testing providing a suitable foundation to look back at the medical errors involving human subjects. As a result, the Nazi human experiments data is an ideal case that can be brought under study to advance the human testing efforts in modern research. The proponents of such a view explain that there is need to see the big picture in every medical challenge that society faces. The overemphasis on the ‘ills’ of the Nazi experiments robs the medical community the opportunities that may arise from such research data.…

The Holocaust was one of the most sadistic and inhumane episodes in world history. Of all the atrocious actions that occurred during the war, perhaps the most appalling was the medical experiments conducted by the Nazis. From 1933 to 1945 at least seventy pseudo-medical projects were performed on at least 7,000 human beings against their will (“Medical Experiments.”) These victims, almost all Jews and a few Gypsys, suffered unspeakable pain, mutilation, permanent disability, infertility, and in many cases death. It is difficult to assess the motive behind all of these actions but many of them were racist-inspired and involved protecting German blood.…

In the past there have been experiments conducted that have done more harm and little to no good. There is a line that can be crossed between a toll being taken for the greater good versus people being exploited and put in harm’s way. There can be a larger benefit to society for the sacrifice that people have made. However, there are several experiments that cross that line and have little to no benefit to society or the greater good. People should not suffer for trivial findings, nor should people be treated in an unethical way for an experiment.…

“ I am on the opposition side about the human experiments.” Reason why I think it's wrong to experiment on humans, because in 1944 there was a 17-year-old-boy his name is Nathen. Scientist locked him up in a chamber the chamber had poisonous gas for weapons when they turned it on Nathen stared screaming and yelling for his life.
