When making a new performance appraisal system for Tesla Media I would first take a look at the current system and evaluate the current criterion to determine which changes are needed. Communication, Customer Service, Accountability, Job Knowledge, and Career Development. Part of the communication competency would be if an employee considered ideas from others on issues that affected them. The customer service competency would include if the employee kept all appointments, call-return commitments, etc., and they were approachable and responsive to customers and others. One of the most important parts of the accountability competency would be the fact that employees provided consistent, timely, high quality work. The job knowledge competency is important because laws and technology are always changing and it is great for companies if their employees maintained currency on level of professional and technical knowledge for their positions. I feel the career development competency would be important because it will show which employees took the extra steps in order to improve their performance and knowledge in their careers. These competencies will be similar for all positions when it comes to pay
