In the beginning of the film,Terry portrayed a negative attitude about work and instead commit his time and energy in doubting himself.several times he referred to himself as a nobody and a bomb. Also, Terry was a person that was pushed around so much, that it might have given him reasons for being so laid back and not having a care in the world.

2.What is the catalyst for his change?The catalyst for change in Terry’s actions and behavior was brought on by a string of events, such as his role in Joey Doyle’s death, father Barry persuading him to confess, the death of Dugan, his feelings for Edie and lastly the murder of his brother Charlie. However, the guilt of Joeys death is what broke the camels back, and along with every other controversy

I recall at the end of the film when he reported to work, but was not welcomed and he decided he was gonna stand up to Mr Friendly face to face he was defeated physically but mentally he stands firm. However, the last few seconds of the movie showed terry standing more confidently on the docks wearing Joeys jacket, with no nervous gestures. This behavior suggest that he possess power and demands respect.

Some of the reoccurring objects or symbols seen throughout the film are Joeys jacket, gloves, the roof top, christianity, the pigeons, coats, water, fences and fog.

i. Joey's jacket that is passed from Joey to Kayo to Terry. The jacket is worn by Joey who is going to testify. Then to Kayo who decides to testify and finally to Terry who does testify.

ii. The Gloves which appeared twice in the one scene with Charlie spitting in the taxi with his brother Terry, he is seen with both gloves on but eventually took one glove off and plays with it because he is nervous. Another scene shows Edie accidentally dropped her white glove in the
