Terry L. Chang: A Narrative Analysis

After browsing over all of the resumes within two minutes, there were two that stood out to me. The worst resume that I could find was Stella Bailey. Bailey's resume was a great format, however her content was not so great. She lacked being descriptive on her resume. Bailey would talk about tools that she used, but not how she utilized them. When we create resumes, our objective should be to make ourselves look more qualified than our contenders and I do not feel as though she did that. The best resume, in my opinion, was Terry L. Chang. Chang was descriptive about their objective and it relates to the position that we are looking to hire someone. Chang was organized and used bullet points, which is always a bonus. He did lack a great amount

Jasper Jones is an award winning novel written by Craig Silvey, first published in 2009. After reading the first one hundred pages, the novel has left a positive influence on me. I have enjoyed reading the text so far. Within the novel, Craig Silvey uses real life experiences which he encountered growing up on an orchard in Western Australia in order to craft the context and Australian setting within Jasper Jones. Jasper Jones is set in Corrigan in 1965, and it follows the protagonist Charlie Bucktin, a white, skinny boy who wears glasses through his journey of solving a suspected murder and growing up in society.…

After watching some gameplay videos for the new ps4 game Until Dawn, I was reminded of a strange term I had once heard, the butterfly effect. Upon seeing this, I decided to do some research to find out more about it. The Chaos theory more commonly called the butterfly effect summarized by Edward Lorenz is a branch of mathematics that deals with complex systems whose behaviour is highly sensitive to slight changes in conditions, so that small alterations can give rise to strikingly great consequences. With this, I thought a many life decisions that I had made, both large and small and thought of how they affected my life and how different my life would be if I had chosen to take another path. I am a Christian and with further thought, came to…

The drive of Bruce Olson and what he had to go through in his life relates to my life in the way that I want to become a missionary someday. Both my life and his are very different right now, but reading about his life and the things he endured both scares me and brings excitement. The thought of leaving my family and everything I know to go live in a foreign place doesn't exactly sound like something I would volunteer for, but doing the will of God and meeting new people interests me like nothing else. Like Bruce, I am a people-person, I like to be with someone all the time. It scare me to think about how Bruce was so lonely in South America, while he wasn't able to speak very much and communicate with others.…

To him and thousands of others like him, America was a sign of a life of new opportunity. Growing up, my life was a blend of American and Chinese cultures. Ted Chiang's story, Story of Your Life focuses on the perception of the main character Dr, Louise Banks who is asked by the military to help understand the communications of the heptapod aliens. Chiang's story parallels Delany's Babel-17 in the sense that the main character's own perception begins to change as she learns more of the alien language. "And one had to know the initial and final states and meet the goal; one needed the knowledge of the effects before the causes could be initiated. I was growing to understand that, too" (Chiang 130). Fermat's principle of least time factors into her and Gary's linguistic work on learning the language when she comes to the realization that in order to write this synthetic language you must know…
