We all know that Terry Fox was fighting cancer, inspiring many Canadians and cancer patient and is a Canadian hero. He held The Marathon Of Hope so he can raise money for cancer research. He had a dream to run across. But you probably don’t know all the challenges that he had to face during the run.
Terry Fox has faced many challenges during The Marathon Of Hope. Many emotional and physical challenges during the run. When he first started the run nobody thought believed in him. Many thought he would give up before he could run a province. Terry ‘’lived’’ in a small R.V for almost a year. During the run he felt sick, dizzy, tired and ill. Waking up early. And one of the most challenging things that I think was when he ran through Quebec. Only a few people knew who he was, barely anyone knew what he was doing, and they didn’t raise a lot of money. He’s a Canadian hero and known worldwide and it’s hard to find a Canadian that doesn’t ‘’know’’ who he is and what he did. Almost everyone knows that he tried to run across Canada with an amputated leg. Something everyone doesn’t know that he ran over half way because the cancer spread near Thunder Bay he made a public announcement ways he’s stopping the run. Also people don’t know about that he got the flu, colds and ect. Without the hope Terry couldn’t have done if he listened to everyone around him because everyone was telling him he shouldn’t do the run including his family and friends. In memory of Terry’s Marathon Of Hope in Canada and some other parts of the world have a run in September called the Terry Fox Run and the money raised goes toward cancer research.
