An anxiety disorder (Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Panic Disorder, Social Anxiety Disorder), may make you feel anxious, most of the time. You may feel the anxiety attack coming. You may feel the butterflies in your stomach, or you’re starting to space out and not listen to people, maybe you start to shake or you’re constantly moving your leg. Anxiety is an important disorder because you may not see that you or a loved one has it and it will then go untreated.
Anxiety is a personal health risk because hypochondriasis often arises when a person is under severe stress, has a serious illness, or under-recovery (A Twin Study). Results have suggested that hypochondriasis is moderately heritable, with the genetic factors accounting up to thirty-five percent of the variance in hypochondriasis scores (A Twin Study). Therefore, anxiety can be genetic if the person has a serious illness, under severe stress, or under recovery.

Some of the short-term effects are, difficulty swallowing, dizziness, dry mouth, rapid heartbeat, headaches, the inability to concentrate, etc., (Negative Effects of Anxiety). Not only are there short term effects of anxiety but there are also long-term effects of having anxiety, which is, the increased risk of having a stroke, early memory decline (which can cause long-term damage to hippocampal cells, which will affect learning memory abilities), insomnia, and detrimental impact of emotional distraction (Negative Effects of
