Between the years of 1992 and 1995, Serbia and Croatia invaded Bosnia in hopes to take over, and split all Bosnian territory. This occurred after the European committee declared Bosnia an independent state. Religious tensions were also a contributing factor in the war being started. This was the worst act of genocide since the Holocaust. In April of 1992, The European community recognized Bosnia as it’s own country. This upset the Serbs because they opposed the creation of a Bosnian state within their territory. Serbs started bombing cities in Bosnia such as Sarajevo and Mostar.
