Thomas Lanier Williams (Tennessee Williams) was born on March 26,1911 in Columbus, Mississippi. He is the second of three children his older sister Rose and younger brother Walter. His father Cornelius was travel salesman, so his mother Edwina and the three kids lived with her parents Rose O. Dakin and Reverend Walter Dakin. Williams childhood in Mississippi was pleasant and happy. But life changed for him when his family moved to St. Louis, Missouri due to his father getting job at the International Shoe Company. Tennessee and his father didn’t get along because his father would rather work and drink then parent, he had a violent temper and was prone to using his fist.
