Once in the car and the two begin to fight back seats won’t go down and all the luggage won’t fit. In this family every major movement of luggage or people leads to a clashing of two different personalities a nice helpful person and a controlling mean person. The child name is …show more content…
This seems to work. However, everyone on the road is a powder keg and James realize there is a sea of powder kegs waiting to explode all around this family. James though young in age decides to continue on with small talk, but something worst happens. Politics has been brought up. John says, “Wow I really like this guy he is going to change our country I going to vote for him I think.” Lucy says, “ how can you even stand him he is awful and wont fulfill his promises” “ You don’t know anything ok, just let me drive” “well you brought it up.” “Just let me drive” At least now John will not be yelling at you or your mom, but now the radio has become the man of the hour. James realizes this will help him fume out some of this built up anger from the stresses of driving. So he doesn’t interject and gets in on the yelling at the radio. At least politics is an outside enemy for the family to get their angers out on. So this last for a while and things seem to be good and time seems to be flying, but then comes a major intersection, one John says “I know were to go and I bet it will save us time” Lucy says “ Don’t go that way there are lights” “No you are wrong I’ve been this way many times” as always Lucy tried to help but

In Donald Halls book Literary and Cultural Theory he asserts, “key to all feminist analysis is a recognition of the different degrees of social power that are granted to and exercised by women and men” (Halls 199). The perspective of feminist analysis has evolved throughout the history of women being denied social power and being denied the right to numerous forms of self-expression. It was typical for women to feel like they had no right to express how they truly felt. Men were never fond about a woman’s feelings. Women were looked upon by men as a price possession rather than a regular honorable human being.…

The relation of inside and outside has been prevalent greatly in a lot of the reading that we have read this year. Although some may think that outside is underutilized and not seen as important as the inside of something it is just as significant. I selected two short stories in particular, the first one being “The Story of an Hour” by Kate Chopin. I picked this one because I saw this short story as a great example to explain. The second story is “The Doll House” by Katherine Mansfield because I feel as though the doll house in the story has a plethora of symbols on the inside and on the outside.…

Many parts of this story are controversial, but Mrs. Mallard being excited after learning that her husband is dead is not one of them. Mrs. Mallard, was not mistreated in her marriage but she had no reason to leave so she felt trapped.…
