During this semester I personally contributed to my overall success in the PTAP 2310 class by studying consistently and coming prepared to class. I found that having previously read the chapter and notes, I was able to further understand what Dr. Amite was teaching. This also proved to be beneficial if I had trouble understanding a portion of the chapter I could come with questions. I entered this class knowing that my performance and understanding of the information relied heavily on my entrance into the PTA program. Becoming a PTA is so important to me that it kept me driven to have a complete understanding of the material, even when it was most difficult.…

I am in my first module of the dental hygiene program at Fortis Institute. I came to this school from Harrisburg Area Community College already knowing that I wanted to be a dental hygienist; I have taken numerous dental courses and assumed I knew exactly what I was headed for and how clinic would be, was I ever wrong! This essay will look at my experience in the dental clinic with what I have learned from the observation, how the experience has changed my view of the program, if the experience enhanced or diminished my interest in the field, what fears I have moving forward and what I feel more confident about after the observation. To begin with, I have learned a decent amount from the observation in clinic, but I am only going to hit some major points that I found most important. As I walked into clinic I noticed that the clinic was as spotless as can be;…

To this day, I can only remember three dates: May 30, 2000; April 18, 2017; and January 16, 2015. The first date holds great significance for my friends, family, and relatives, but to me the date is just a reminder of enhanced responsibility and older age. The second date marks the day on which my hard work on merit badges, volunteering, and my eagle scout project paid off: my eagle scout board of review date. However, the third date is the most momentous, as it marks a period of moral and psychological growth in my life. On January 16th, 2015, I observed the unfolding of an unforgettable experience, and, to this day, I continue to draw inspiration from the person at the center of the incident:…

Goal I The first goal of the program was to “Apply major concepts, theoretical perspectives, empirical findings, and historical trends in psychology to prepare for graduate study or careers in which psychological training is relevant”(). Two classes met this goal, Introduction to Psychology (PSY 111) taken at Anne Arundel Community College, and Introduction to Counseling Psychology (PSYC 432) taken at the University of Maryland University College. Introduction to Psychology was the first psychology course I took many years ago. It was the class I took because I had an empty slot on my schedule.…

When I first began this class I thought that this would be just another introductory class that is required to orient you to the expectations of the particular college. Now, after completing this class, I know that this is not the case. Personal Dimensions of Learning has been a great help, not only to my school work, but also in my daily life. Before taking this class, I thought that learning, and completing daily tasks, were mostly memorizing the order of the way things are supposed to be done and just completing the task. I never liked this strategy, but it always seemed to be the most convenient way to get things done at school, home, and work.…
