“How would you teach or preach to our generation the relevance of the 10 Commandments?”
The relevance of the Ten Commandments is the same as it was with the Israelites, the only thing that is different is the culture. That is the difference between culture and the Bible, we as people will always be changing and the Word itself and the meaning behind it will never change. What Moses spoke to the Israelites when he came down from Mount Sinai related to them that day the same way it relates to us in today’s generation. The Ten Commandments set standards and moral guidelines for us that we just like the Israelites are supposed to follow. The first command, “You shall have no other gods before me.” This command is pretty self explanatory, there is only one God and He expects us to worship Him and Him alone. …show more content…
In today’s generation you really do not see too many people making statues and worshiping them. What you do see is people putting things above God such as: sports, hobbies, relationships, money, school, careers, and etc. Idols in today’s culture come in a different form, but they can be just as dangerous when it comes to our relationship with God.
