Examples Of Temptation In Little Red Riding Hood

Improved Essays
Temptation is like the big bad wolf in Little Red Riding Hood. It has the appeal of something good, but when toyed with, it’s actually far more dangerous and evil than we expected. The lure of darkness is tempting, enticing, like the aroma in a chocolate factory. But how do we deal with temptation? In order to know how to deal with temptation, one must know exactly what temptation is. Temptation is defined as a desire to do something, especially something wrong or unwise. Some are tempted with their eyes; some are lured by sin such as sexual lusts, while others are faced with the temptation to eat a cookie. Temptations come in many forms, and acting upon them has consequences. Therefore, when it comes to dealing with temptation, not …show more content…
The Bible reminds us in 2 Timothy 2:22, “so flee youthful passions and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, along with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart.” We are told to flee when temptation is nearby, and call upon the Lord. One example where we see someone fleeing from temptation is seen in the life of Joseph in Genesis 39. Joseph was made an overseer of Potiphar’s house. The Bible describes in Genesis 39:6, “…now Joseph was handsome in form and appearance.” Joseph was an attractive man and we clearly see throughout the story Potiphar’s wife is attracted to him. Throughout Genesis 39 she tells Joseph, “lie with me.” But Joseph being right with the Lord and seeing His goodness responds in Genesis 39:9, “…how then can I do this great wickedness and sin against God?” Joseph knows that lying with Potiphar’s wife is wrong. However, one day Potiphar’s wife obtains Joseph’s robe and tells him to lie with her, but Joseph’s actions show clearly what we should do when presented with sin. Genesis 39:12, “she caught him by his garment, saying, ‘lie with me.’ But he left his garment in her hand and fled and got out of the house.” Joseph didn’t even go back for his robe, he just left and fled. And that’s what we should do when presented with temptation, we shouldn’t even think twice about it, but we should flee when temptation is in our …show more content…
James 5:16 reminds us to confess our sins to one another. Therefore, not only should we flee from temptation and run to the throne of grace, but we ought to tell one another our struggles and lift one another up in prayer. As believers, we need to do life together and one way of doing that is by being vulnerable with one another with what we are dealing with. After all, the Christian life was not meant to be lived alone. For example, when we are faced with a certain temptation, we should tell one another our struggles. Ephesians 6:18 tells us to pray at all times in the Spirit. An amazing thing that we can do as the body of Christ is to pray for one another and pray that we would overcome the temptations that are present in our

It explains in more depth that sin is not glorifying God through one’s actions, something that causes one’s neighbor to stumble, or something that hinders the Gospel from being spread. In Jimmy’s case he was tempted by females and had to learn how to put a guard up and avoiding certain situations. Fairy tales grow from the life experience and the imagination of a particular group of people. They meet four basic human needs; explain mysteries, articulate fears and dreams, impose order and also entertain. Each tale consists of a theme that goes beyond the scope of the story while using the story as a foundation and a motifs or subject matter. Within the Little Red Riding Hood tales the motif of naivety or the loss of naivety prevails. In three different versions of the tale, the Little Red Riding Hood characters naivety is developed in three very different ways.…

Introduction into this book and videos covers how we need to set long term goals, but before doing so we need to ask ourselves some questions. Before we can set those goals we should seek to know Christ. This can be done by reading the four gospels and seeing what Jesus did, what we can learn from him, and how does it relate to us? Jesus’ last commandment was to go and make disciples, and while principles never change, our methods have to change in order to reach the current generation, and each beyond. As we get into the chapters we learn that men are God’s method and while they may seem unlearned or ignorant by man’s standards, God uses those willing to learn and raises them into leadership.…

The Love of God God is the creator of all life and he is the highest of all powers, he embodies all ‘persons’ (The Father, The Son, and The Spirit). We are humans, and many of times we fail by trying to hold a certain status, gain certain materialistic possessions, and cause great emotional/physical harm to one another.
