Temple University Graduation Speech

Decent Essays
Good evening,

Hello, my name is Dienis Quinonez.

I’m actually interested into transferring to Temple University from Montgomery College, Maryland.

I was wondering what kind of requirements/ classes I would have to take, or how many credits would be transferable to Temple University?

Thank you for your time, have a wonderful evening!

"I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed - we hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men are created equal," were the words once spoken by Martin Luther King Jr. His vision was that one day, “little black boys and little black girls will be able to join hands with little white boys and white girls as sisters and brothers.” These notions are being regarded in our everyday lives. He spoke with ethos, pathos and logos- appealing to a variety of cultures.…

above a 3.5. Although that seems like a very high grade point average, I know that it is possible if I dedicate my time and energy onto school and stay focused on getting good grades. When the USD school board decides which transfer students to accept, they pay extra attention to those who excelled in Reading, Writing, and Math. Although I am an excellent reader and writer, I do struggle in math and I know that I need to improve my math skills and get an amazing grade in math so that I become a competitive applicant and can make myself stand out amongst the other transfer applicants. For the University of California Irvine, you are required to attend community college for two years and have a G.P.A above a 3.0 and have completed at least 60 transferable units.…

The Speech I knew I would need to start writing my speech at some point, but there were much better things to be doing than homework. The speech had to be about the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Washington, D.C. I had terrible writer's block. The topic and instructions given by my English teacher were vague. I was sure I would never get the speech done.…

A.A. Milne once said, “How lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard.” Though he said it in the form of Winnie the Pooh, his words ring true as we graduate from St. Mary’s and on to high school. I am so grateful that I have had a place for the past eleven years that is so special to me that I’m having trouble leaving it. St. Mary’s has blessed me with friendships that I will always cherish and valuable lessons to remember in high school and beyond. From the first day of preschool to the last day of eighth grade, we have been lucky enough to go to a school that cares so much about each of its students.…

Senior year: The last year of school. Students are excited and have a lot of work to, especially if they haven’t yet served their 24 hours of volunteering. Seniors are rushing to study and complete their work, as well as combing through colleges. They need every minute they have to do their work, making community service even more of an unnecessary and unwanted time waster. As much as we hate it, Community service can have some perks.…

Greetings, Class of 2023. Today, we get to celebrate the culmination of our thirteen years of hard work in school with graduation, and I have been asked to deliver this year’s commencement speech. I would like to thank all of the people that have brought us here: family members, teachers, principals, and people who would go out of their way to encourage us to keep trying hard even in the midst of failure. Without you, we would not be standing on this stage today. I would like to start by defining the word “commencement.”…
