The leadership style that is demonstrated by people that are currently manage at Unit 8200 is mainly through the leadership style which is called democratic style such that dictates described a leader who involved employees in decision-making, delegated authority, and used feedback as an opportunity for coaching employees. In other words, mostly leaders as included at Unit 8200 are implementing participating of SLT leadership styles which managers are giving encouragement the subordinates or employees to discuss among each other in order solve and work for upcoming problems that they might face. For instance, it is very obvious to see that Unit 8200’s managers are giving encouragement to their employees to have at least more that their expectation…
Servant Leader I have not read the whole book yet, however the author of this book The worlds most powerful leadership principle presenting you with a lot new ideas and many interesting concepts. James C hunter actually makes you to start thinking and wanting to start making changes in your personal behaviors and personality to be a better person and a leader. Usually I always skipped the prologue, but after reading it in the James Hunter’s book it turned out to be pretty interesting with actual questions to answer that make you thinking about some interesting aspects that you have not seen or thought before. I have read prologue itself and “good and bad news” couple of times to truly understand and relate to the message that author of this book was trying to say.…
Sometimes, being a leader is not always about being popular. The movie 12 O’clock High, directed by Henry King, reflects this and other leadership themes throughout its entirety. The movie shows multiple leadership styles from different officers, but it primarily focuses on the leadership of Colonel Davenport, General Pritchard, and Brigadier General Savage. Each of these officers use diverse types of leadership tactics to ensure that the 918th Bomb Group is successful in their missions. Each of them use distinctive styles of leadership to do their best to make sure their followers are efficient in the situation they are put in.…
Grooming Leaders Discussion According to Smith (1992), “The church has a higher potential for growth if the pastor is a leader more than he is an administrator. A leader, as the next pair of labels indicates, is a visionary; while an administrator is an implementer of someone else’s vision. A church growth pastor is a goal-setter; less growth potential is predicted for a pastor with the self-image of an “enabler”, who encourages the lay people to set the goals. To use an industrial model, the pastor who tends to be more a manager type than a foreman type will enhance the growth possibilities for the church” (p. 98).…
Compare and contrast the psychodynamic approach to leadership and that of emotional intelligence. Do you connect with one theory more than the other? Why or why not? The psychodynamic approach is based on the “assessment of the personalities of leaders and followers” (Northouse, 2013, p.347).…
Defining Christian leader in the 21th century can be a lot different from 60 years ago. However the responsibility to lead and govern the people of God never changes His word is the final authority. Leadership often takes on different titles and can be secular or Christian. Secular leaders fail to take into account God’s will and the guidance he gives to leaders. Spiritual leaders are directed by the Holy Spirit not by their own agendas.…
I find that, for me, the personality element within the Right to Lead Model is the most important concept within Module 5, Adaptable Leader. Personality seems to be the most important concept within said model, and the lesson in general, because personality shapes how everything we communicate is perceived by others. This means that every other one of your leadership qualities rely on you having a positive personality in order for you to be effective. Without a well-received personality, even if you are highly skilled in your field and act as a model leader, you will be perceived poorly and everything you do will be tainted. This would cause subordinates, coworkers, and supervisors to avoid dealing with you.…
Through interactive leadership I have built several strengths, including mentorship, collaboration, and team building. These three strengths all work together in similar ways. As a mentor, I work with several staff within my organization as well as from other organizations and companies, to help them identify their career goals, near term and long term goals, strengths, weaknesses and opportunities. Interactive leadership is a way in which I can help others, but also learn and grow my own personal and professional skills through mentorship.…
Erica Michael Leadership Styles Paper The psychodynamic approach to leadership is the technique which evaluates your own psychological make-up and what motivates you, thus you gain a better understanding of what can motivate your subordinates. The emergence of this approach have its roots from Sigmund Freud. Leaders are more effective when they have an insight to their own psychological make-up. The psychodynamic approach brings an important aspect to leadership by emphasizing our past experiences, unconscious, feelings, self-understanding and personality types. These types of leaders also encourage their subordinates to gain better insight to their own selves (The Psychodynamic Approach).…
Growing up, I viewed leadership as something I would not be able to possess. I saw leaders around me and it felt as though they had endless grace, charisma, and enjoyed public speaking. As someone who processes internally and is more of an introvert, leadership felt like something I would witness from afar, not possess. However, over time I have been able to refine what it means to be a leader and eliminate the idea of leadership as exclusionary. For me, being a leader is not necessarily being the loudest voice heard but speaking and acting with intention, taking the time to build connections through empathy and belief in individual worth, and embracing the ordinary.…
Transforming Into a Positive Leader and Follower A vital role in the health system of Canada is the nursing leader (Canadian Nurses Association, 2009, p. 1). However, every leader would not be able to achieve their goals alone without any supporters or followers (Hertig, 2010, p. 1412). Together leaders and followers create a strong team to work on improving patient care (Hertig, 2010, p. 1413). To create a strong and collaborative team in the health care system, I must be able to take on either role.…
We will be examining the five practices of exemplary leadership. The five practices are model the way, inspire a shared vision, challenge the process, enable others to act and encourage the heart. Model the way and inspiring a vision link off of each other. For example, a leader is someone who others should be able to look up to (model the way), and in turn, be a leader who can inspire their employee to want to do better than they already are (inspire a shared vision). A leader declares their expectations and explains the proper process to do so.…
According to the questionnaires I inspire followers to become leaders. The description says a score of five or more is considered as high, and a score of two would be below average. The score shocked me a little bit because I did not know there was such thing in me. As a good leader setting the tone for others to follow should be a very simple thing because I know what it requires. As a transformational leader my first step would be focusing my attention in my people, and work hard to help them achieve their goals and dreams.…
Transactional and Transformational Leaders Leadership is defined as the process of social influence, in which an individual can procure or seek the support or aid of others people in the accomplishment of a common goal (Tannenbaum, Weschler & Massarik, 2013). It is the character of influencing the behaviors of individuals, to attain a given objective. A leader is that person with the ability to guide, inspire, and associate with others to achieve their dream goals. Management experts and researchers have propounded various leadership theories, namely, transactional, trait, laissez-faire, transformational, and democratic. (Tannenbaum, Weschler & Massarik, 2013).…
However followers and leaders should share a mutualistic relationship where all members work together to play their individual part. I learned that there are many different types of followers and the best followers seem to be emerging leaders. While these followers may have learned these abilities by their self the leader should use their transformational leadership skills to foster the follower and enhance abilities to possibly one day take the leaders spot. This way not only can he or she play the role of a follower especially well they can also step up and be the leader if need be. I think that shows how the different types of leaderships are entangled.…
