Over the last 46 years Alaska's temperature has risen about three degrees fahrenheit. This is more than two times the temperature change for the rest of the United States. In the winter the temperature has risen about six degrees farenheit which is making ice melt in the spring. If Alaska keeps warming up the average temperature could increase up to two or four degrees fahrenheit in the middle of the century. It might not be a bad thing that temperatures are growing, It could give a longer season for growing crops. It also could increase tourism and natural resources that you couldn't get with an ice cover, like offshore oil.(Climate Impacts in Alaska) Temperatures can affect precipitation.

This increases demand, especially the white-fleshed fish species, in seafood stores everywhere. Because this product is raising in interest, ocean fisheries have more pressure on the people that help with making that fish product. (Keskin, E. and H.H., Atar)
Sea Turtles
Only four species of turtles have been found in the United States border line. Most of the turtles are found in Alaska. Alaska's turtle sighting has been very large because of the amount of turtles there. Most turtles sightings take place in the summer because of the 80 degree temperature. (Alaska Sea Turtles)
Endangered Species
Alaska is home to many endangered species. One of them is the Polar bear. The greatest threat to polar bears is that sea ice is melting more. Professionals are recognizing that the Endangered Species Act, dedicated land to polar bears, will not solve the problem, but it will help, said people in a conference in Washington. More and more bears have been driven to land, but that's where food is harder to find. Villagers are there that hunt bears for food. People worldwide have decided to give 187,000 square miles dedicated to polar bears and other endangered mammals in Alaska. (Alaskan Climate and
