Telus Lack Analysis

This week was primarily all dedicated to our prototype projects. Besides doing two math quizzes, we worked on our projects all week! On monday some staff from Telus Spark came into the class and talked with everyone individually about their project and offered some very valuable feedback. However I was feeling under the weather so I was unable to attend this. But I am very lucky as my partner was able to talk to the people on my behalf as well. But from what she said the Telus Spark people did quite enjoy our idea but we did run into a problem. It is against school regulation to use any humanly fluids in projects and such so we just had to modify our idea a bit. We decided we will just let people extract one fruits DNA (as we will have many different items the people can choose from.) This was a very fast and effective method and would have been perfect for our exhibit, but once we started testing it with plants and such we found out this method was not going to work. So we tested a bunch of different methods, we tried adding more or less of each of the components, but that didn't work. Then once we started researching we found some different methods to extract the DNA. We tested them all out and some worked and some didn't. So we kept testing until we found a method that kept working over and over again. It takes a little longer than we had hopped but I do not think that it is very long so it should be
